This report refers to the six-year evaluation of the strategic innovation program Innovair. In summary, the report shows that Innovair is generally a well-functioning programme with exemplary strategic development and management. Innovair has clearly contributed to the aviation technology area within the Swedish innovation system being well integrated, strategically and internationally competitive, and the program makes a significant contribution to Swedish aviation technology players being developed in a relevant way. Innovair's structuring and coordinating function has further strengthened the country's innovative capacity.

The evaluation was carried out during the period January to November 2020. The purpose of the evaluation is to demonstrate results and early effects as a basis for the authorities' decisions on continued funding, and to provide support for the authorities and the program office to develop and improve the program in the best way.

Strategic innovation programs are a joint effort by Vinnova, the Swedish Energy Agency and Formas on actor-driven programme through collaboration in areas that are strategically important for Sweden. They will contribute to creating the conditions for sustainable solutions to global societal challenges and increased international competitiveness.

On behalf of the Swedish Agency for innovation system (Vinnova), the Research Council for the Environment, Areal Industries and Community Development (Formas) and the Swedish Energy Agency (Energy Agency), Faugert & Co Utvärdering/Technopolis Sweden in collaboration with Technopolis Ltd and Sweco Society have evaluated the second generation strategic innovation program (SIP). The six programme that started in 2014 have now undergone a six-year evaluation.
