Purpose and goal

Milestone 1-5 have been well met by the digital solutions collected and visualised on the digital platform Her City (Milestone 2). Which has been tested by 820 users and Her City´s expert group (M1). The toolbox was launched digitally on International Women´s Day 2021 (M3). Her City has since been used in 125 initiatives in 95 countries, which exceeds the goal of implementing 2-3 municipal projects (M4). A business model is being developed with the support of a financing council for long-term sustainability and dissemination of the Her City service (M5).

Expected results and effects

Her City show that regardless of geography and context, the participants´ solutions are similar. They include green areas, libraries, public transport, meeting places, sanitation, marketplaces, urban agriculture, playgrounds, ecosystem services and lighting. In the medium term, it leads to improved accessibility, mobility, air quality, well-being, socializing, social inclusion, business opportunities, digital skills, resilient ecosystems and strengthened local community. In the long run, to the 2030 Agenda and a sustainable society.

Planned approach and implementation

We help facilitate the work of urban practitioners by gathering highly up-to-date digital tools on one and the same platform (M2). Through thorough testing, the methods have been refined and the tools are continuously supplemented to meet different needs (M1). Interest in the platform is spreading among all sectors (M4). Education has increased the capacity of users (M3). Long-term sustainability is achieved through a new collaboration funding activity and new services for different users (M5).
