Purpose and goal

The aim of the project was to supply APP´s for residents and visitors in Rio de Janeiro, mainly in connection with the Olympics and Paralympics 2016, with the help of Open Data and prepare for continued innovative development of APP by third-party developers after the project. Fulfilled Project Goals Yes/No. 1 Improve the ability to get access to Rio´s Open Data. YES 2 Create new business opportunities for third-party developers. YES 3 Increasing the overall efficiency of the transport system. YES 4 To apply and extend the knowledge of Victoria´s Innovation Concept around Open Data. YES!

Expected results and effects

OCTC (innovation competition) attracted 16 concept from 7 countries and 3 continents. These competed in three categories: 1. Comfort and Accessibility in which won http://livrit.com.br/ 2.Experience the Olympics which won https://skedgo.com/riogo and finally Travel Planner who had the winner http: // www .trafi.com /. Above expectation is that the API platform and the Innovation Lab will survive even after the project. In total: - OCTC completed resulted in good App:s - API platform lives on after the project - Rio has now launched an Innovation Lab that will live on after the project

Planned approach and implementation

The project setup included the city of Rio De Janeiro´s IT department, IplanRio and the organization of communicatoin and rescue, COR. From Sweden, except Viktoria Swedish ICT, although the Swedish StartUp company ModernAge participated. ModernAge developed and implemented the API platform, IplanRio gathered data sources. COR inspired and was also a recipient of the data from the API platform. Victoria´s role was to manage the project and to organize and implement the Innovation Competition. To gather data sources proved to be a very comprehensive work but we managed to finish.
