Project duration October 2021 - October 2023
Status Completed
Venture Behavioral changes in the mobility system
Call Investigate, develop and test behavior-changing solutions that contribute to climate-neutral and healthy travel habits

Purpose and goal

The project´s aim was to develop and offer collective transport solutions, based on existing transport resources, for people, residents, working as well as visitors in the countryside of JämtlandHärjedalen. The goal was to implement and demonstrate these in order to stimulate and demonstrate a positive shift from the own private, mostly fossil-fueled car to collective mobility solutions.

Expected results and effects

The project was able, in the effect measurement 2023, to detect positive shifts from the base measurement 2021 in behavior for interest in coordinated carpooling systems for winter holiday trips, local car pools, shared taxis and demand responsive public transport (DRT) for local trips.

Planned approach and implementation

The project´s setup was based on a number of complementary use cases and test pilots for coworking, destination development, combined mobility for the entire trip (train/bus/taxi/car), demand responsive transport and pure municipal/local solutions that were offered to travelers via an app-based solution where the entire trip could be planned and purchased. The project carried out a travel habit survey/base measurement in 2021 which was then followed up with an effect measurement in 2023 for possible behavioral changes after completed test pilots.
