Purpose and goal

Pontoon aimed at developing and testing a model for docking, ´pontoons´, accelerators with line organizations in the automotive industry through action research. The project has achieved the majority of the short term results, as set out in the project proposal, regarding various working methods, roles and support to facilitate such collaborations and thereby increasing MobilityXlab´s ability to promote digital transformation in the automotive industry. In addition, the goal of two scientific publications has been achieved.

Expected results and effects

Project results from Ponton include various ´pontoons´, i.e. working methods, roles and support that increase MobilityXlab´s ability to promote digital transformation in the automotive industry. Some ´pontoons´ have been integrated into MobilityXlab´s process to support partner companies and startups in starting up a collaboration, others support a partner company´s preparatory work in anchoring the startup collaborations internally, and some support individuals, at the partner companies, in leading a startup collaboration.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been led by RISE and Lindholmen Science Park. The project has applied action research with Volvo Car Group, Volvo Group, Zenseact, Veoneer and CEVT. The Corona pandemic meant that the project was extended for three months - a necessity to carry out the activities and achieve the goals as partners have been on short-term leave. During the project period, several people have changed, which has led to a dynamic environment, at the same time the project´s objective been reached, thus concluding that these changes were carried out well.
