Purpose and goal

This project has generated insights and knowledge about how government agencies can promote gender equality and the gender equality policy goals in the use of AI. The project´s final report presents a risk management method for identifying and managing risks with the introduction of AI. There is also an associated software-based risk tool that AISC provides. The final report compiles critical aspects to consider when introducing AI, concerning both the authorities´ steering, as well as special measures to be taken in connection with the various phases of the AI life cycle.

Expected results and effects

The result of this project is a report that aims support government agencies that will implement AI. The report includes a description of a risk management method, a compilation of important aspects that affect government control, and what is important to consider when AI is to be introduced, from identification of business needs, to data collection and processing as well as training, validation, implementation and follow-up of individual AI solutions. The result is intended to contribute to practical support for authorities in implementing gender equality policy in AI solutions

Planned approach and implementation

The project results have been generated by applying the risk management method described in the final report on two test beds, AI solutions at SKV and FK. The work has been carried out in digital workshops with cross-functional participation from each test bed. In addition, analysis work has also been carried out in various constellations. One conclusion is that cross-functionality is a success factor in ensuring gender equal AI. Furthermore, gender experts from each participating org participated, it was highlighted that these be involved early in the introduction of AI.
