Purpose and goal

The project aimed to facilitate a more effective matchmaking between the potential users of reusable materials and the supply side. We performed a feasibility study, to map regulatory, technical and economic factors that facilitate re-use. Project activitities resulted in further cooperation in Stage 2 with the focus on: (1) development of the Material Atlas, and (2) analysing and testing the pathways for scaling-up the digital sharing/marketing platform among multiple recycling centres on the national level. The project contributes to several goals within the UN Agenda 2030.

Expected results and effects

The objectives/effects achieved with the project include: - increased knowledge about the circular and bio-based economy; - improved resource efficiency along product/material value chains; - contribution to economic growth without negative e environmental impacts; - waste reduction by increasing the re-use of construction and demolition materials from household renovations; - strengthen economic, ecological and socially sustainable production; and - promote Sweden’s role as a pioneer in the transition to a circular economy internationally.

Planned approach and implementation

We have performed a feasibility study, to map regulatory, technical and economic factors that facilitate reuse. The study provided also a framework of main aspects and information required by materials providers and users. Project activities also resulted in further cooperation in Stage 2.
