Purpose and goal
The purpose of this project was to find out how the web based climate service Svalna could collaborate with municipalities to empower initiatives of collective action and to evaluate effects of ongoing projects. The business model that was verified focuses on development of value propositions towards municipalities. Aims of the project were: 1) To develop and verify value proposition towards municipalities 2) To sign partnership with at least one municipality. The goals have been met.
Expected results and effects
The project was estimated to establish collaboration between Svalna and at least one municipality, but we now have as many as four municipalities eager to participate in our plans for 2019. The project was estimated to facilitate further collaborations with other partners, and during the project a multiple of potential partners have shown interests in our work. It is to early to tell if Svalna will have 100.000 users one year after this project (estimated in the beginning of the project), but it seem highly possible, due to the unexpected high number of participating municipalities.
Planned approach and implementation
The project manager held workshops with 5 municipalities. A presentation of Svalna and behavioral changes was followed by a brainstorming-session to identify the municipality´s needs, interests and budget to collaborate with Svalna. Based on the material gathered at those workshops, the project- team identified frames and barriers for potential collaborations and developed value proposition towards the municipalities. Reconnection meetings were held where Svalnas proposed value propositions were presented and adjusted in line with the municipalities feedback.
