Important results from the project

The purpose of the project was to validate the innovation, and lay the foundation for a potential partnership with the participating e-commerce platform as well as other similar platforms on the Swedish and nearby markets. The purpose and goal was successfully achieved since we signed a partnership with Norway’s second largest e-commerce platform, started another partnership with an e-commerce agency working with the largest e-commerce platform in the world. We also received a request of partnership from the project’s participating ecommerce platform.

Expected long term effects

We expected to gain a deeper insight on the expectations and needs for innovative returns handling by e-commerce platforms, as well as understand the processes needed for a collaborations between e-commerce platforms and Returnado. Returnado wanted to apply the results of the project on other e-commerce platforms on a national and international level. The result was positive since we’ve received requests from potential partners and platforms and have been able to apply learnings and the technology developed in this project.

Approach and implementation

Different parties in the project was differently engaged in the different phases. We saw that the online merchant is the experts on their own needs, which lead to them taking commando there, at the same time the e-commerce platform had several thoughts around scalability, commercialization and how the platforms could interact long term. Regarding the planning, it showed to be a bit of a challenge to sync all platforms to create functionality in parallel. In future projects we would likely have a bit longer time plan with more space between each phase to inject some time-margin in the plan.
