Project duration October 2017 - April 2018
Status Completed
Venture Innovative Startups

Purpose and goal

The purpose and overall objective of the project was to launch Race.se as a full-scale solution for participants, race organizers and sponsors in Sweden. During the project we have developed a solution that delivers value to all customer groups. For race participants, we are a natural start and finish for endurance races. Race organizers can handle all parts of their races on Race.se. Sponsors can reach Sweden´s race participants through several different channels. The project has been successfully implemented.

Expected results and effects

Race.se has been launched and is a service for participants where you can apply, collect and sign up for a sports event. Race organizers can reduce their costs through Race.se through our effective registration, payment and timing solution. In total, over 80 races are collaborating with Race.se, including Lidingöloppet, Åre Extreme Challenge, Ångaloppet and Sollentuna Summer / Winter Marathons, which is above our expectations. The number of members are 12000 which is as expected and talks have begun with Folksam about a cooperation.

Planned approach and implementation

We started the project by planning and scheduling the various activities. The activities were largely parallel, which placed high demands on the project group. The end result is good, but the implementation has meant a high workload on, above all, the technical development that needed to handle a larger amount of bug fixes than expected. A desirable procedure had been to spread the activities over a longer period to provide more room for bug fixes. Requirements, project management and follow-up have gone as planned.
