Prolonged life to fruits and vegetables

Purpose and goal

1) We have succeeded in finding a good production process by working closely with a consultant. 2) We have a good product ready for the market thanks to good feedback from test customers. 3) We have evaluated customer segment and business model, which has led to a new primary customer segment: the public sector. 4) One customer contract is signed and several others are close to being locked. The goal was two. 5) We have not succeeded in moving into industrial facilities, it was more complicated than we thought. We have good cooperation with our partners and hope to achieve this in Q1 2020.

Expected results and effects

One expected result we had was to better understand our customers´ needs and to evaluate the sustainability of our business model. During the project, we have dismissed our original idea of cafes as the primary customer group to focus on the public sector instead. Our other expected outcome was to find a scalable solution regarding production facilities and equipment. We have done this, but we are not ready with negotiations with our partners and thus have not started large-scale production yet. This was something we had hoped to achieve during the project.

Planned approach and implementation

Something we are happy with is how close we have worked with our test customers and that we have actively listened to their feedback to successfully develop a good product. The collaboration with our production consultant has also been successful and important for an efficient production process. The dialogue with our production partners has been the most challenging. They are not as fast-moving as we are, which has been a bottleneck for us. We could have evaluated more options for production right from the start in order not to be so dependent on our current partners.
