Important results from the project
The overall objective of the project - to contribute to the development of Swedish women´s and men´s football through digital transformation - was met well. Among those currently working with the tool are Linköping FC, the Swedish U21 national team and HB Køge in Denmark. "For us, CodePlay has become an important tool in objective match analysis. It´s a cost-efficient way for us to work with data analysis at a level that otherwise only is available for clubs with significantly greater financial resources." / Marcus Walfridsson - Head coach Linköpings FC
Expected long term effects
One of the most important effects we wanted to achieve in the short term was to start raising the bar of digital transformation within Swedish football. We have gotten clients from teams at different levels, both in women´s and men´s football and at different ages. For us, this is the single most important result so far. The width of customers shows that the idea of CodePlay being available for everyone really works. The effect of the spread we have gotten will be that our customers together with us in the long term will raise the technical level and contribute to the digital transformation.
Approach and implementation
We worked in three iterations where each iteration contained a number of steps. - Backlog creation & grooming where the entire project group agreed and prioritized functions. - Sprint Planning - Developers assessed how long time the backlog would take to be done and what parts of it that could be done in the coming iteration. - Development - Test / Feedback Overall, the project worked well. However, the project group was inexperienced regarding the methodology. Sometimes it was difficult to agree on the prioritization of functions. We did not have time to finish everything in the backlog.
