Important results from the project
Surveillance of the airspace is an activity that traditionally concerns air traffic control authorities. This is about to change. With the introduction of drones and flight trackers who have that as their business idea, today there are new players with the need to monitor the airspace. Planesight Solar enables airspace surveillance in places where neither electricity nor wired Internet is available and is specifically tailored for these new players in the aviation industry.
Expected long term effects
Planesight Solar is now available for "friendly users" to try.
Approach and implementation
Skysense already has an ADS-B receiver for indoor use. Planesight Solar is based on the same receiver but is in addition fully self-sufficient using solar panels, battery and modem.
