Purpose and goal

Matematikspel i Uppsala AB has created an app-based game, Make It Equal (MiE), which teaches children mathematics through an interactive experience. Based on MiE, an innovative methodology has been developed, MiE +, for how young people and adults can learn mathematics more interactively. The project has led to the digitization and testing of this methodology in upper secondary schools, and the goal of the project - to use an innovative methodology as a basis for creating a digital prototype that enables more interactive mathematics learning - has been met.

Expected results and effects

The project was expected to result in the development and testing of a prototype of MiE + to obtain feedback from the end user on how to further develop the prototype towards a commercially viable product, and to compile a comprehensive project plan to clarify how the development of MiE + should be carried out. The expected result has been met.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has meant that a digital prototype of the MiE + methodology has been developed and user-tested at two upper secondary schools in Uppsala. The project was made possible by a project group consisting of a representative from Matematikspel i Uppsala AB; representatives from upper secondary schools where the test was conducted; a representative from Uppsala Municipality, as well as; an expert on the software development that the project included.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
