Purpose and goal
Every tenth infant has colic, the screaming usually lasts between 2 weeks and 4 months but can last longer. Colic families end up in a nightmare, many consider the colic information and support to be inadequate. Hello Colic is an app that supports and informs parents who have infants with colic and also inform and support child health care centres. Hello Colic collaborates with colic researchers and wants to contribute to colic research. Hello Colic also wants to prevent shaken baby syndrom and reduce the number of sick leave.
Expected results and effects
Through Hello Colic parents understand if it´s colic or not taking a short test and logging primarily the infants screams. The logging also shows patterns that enable parents to prepare and see connections in for example the diet. Parents feel confident that the information and advice in Hello Colic are reliable and are based on recent research in collaboration with colic researchers, which means that time is reduced from googling and can be spent on recovery and taking care of the infant instead. The app also refers to other professional help which can help the infant get help faster.
Planned approach and implementation
The project focuses on the development of the BETA version, which is planned for November 2019 including user-friendly design that is iteratively tested with colic parents. Focus also lays on research and quality assurance of colic information in consultation with colic researchers, marketing and launch activities in various channels such as social media and meetings with parents and BVC, market research, website building etc.
