Important results from the project
The aim was to create a dialogue within the food sector on scenarios for continued sustainable development of Swedish food production. By innovative collaboration with key players scenarios were developed through an iterative "story and simulation process. Further model calculations can in concrete and quantitative terms describe a competitive production increase in Sweden. The project has continued the process of further scenario development and evaluation of economic factors and environmental effects, which occurs if continued funding of the project is granted.
Expected long term effects
Production increase needs were identified in dialogue with the actors of the food sector, who described how they currently use scenarios, e g sustainability work and risk analyzes. Dialogues around scenarios contribute to e g increased knowledge exchange; increased understanding of different actors´ conditions; identification of "gaps" in the system, e g the absence of a critical actor, venture or instrument; developing a consensus on necessary changes; inspiration. Identified issues will form the basis for continued scenario work, including model calculations.
Approach and implementation
In this UD1 project, the key has been dialogue with key actors. Dialogue has been created partly through meetings and workshops with invited actors from the different parts of the food chain as possible. The workshops were conducted with a combination of open space and café method. The goal was to get as many angles as possible on pre-sent issues. The participants did not have to agree. Comments received were grouped, summarized and discussed by the project team. In the attached excel file all comments are presented.
