Digital-enabled solutions to address demographic ageing - Sweden as a leading country within health and care 2028
Purpose and goal
The aim is to address the demographic aging with sustainable and innovative solutions. With the individual and his/her needs in the centre, great emphasis will be placed on methods focusing on creating value for the citizen. The solutions will strengthen the integration of health and wellbeing services with healthcare services, and increase the possibilities for the citizens to make more informed choices. The goal is that Sweden, in 2028, should be number one in the world with applying the potential of digitalization to give the aging population the best quality of life, health and care.
Expected results and effects
The outcome will be new approaches and solutions, enabled by digitalization, that increase the individual´s own control and contribute to a more integrated care and health care. The expected impact of the project is that society will get more out of resources that have been invested. Resources used more efficiently with a focus on the individual and its wellbeing will increase quality of life and reduce the societal cost per caretaker. This in turn will make the society better equipped to provide the growing aging population with health promoting and care services of high quality.
Planned approach and implementation
During the project we will involve stakeholders that have the ability to see future innovative solutions and also have a position where they can support the introduction of these solutions. Further, the project will involve business partners that have the technical knowledge to support the structural and organizational development that is required. As the demographic aging occurs on a global level, the project will conduct analysis regarding the global market and provide support to Swedish industry for the export of innovative care and healthcare solutions.
