Important results from the project
Through research and collaboration with industry expertise and needle manufacturers, the company has gained valuable insights about the nature of the needle and how this affects the user experience. The result of this work will be a guide in the final phase of product development and will contribute to strengthening the product´s competitiveness.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in increased knowledge about how the nature of needles affects the patient and how to best meet the needs of the patent. Thanks to the project funds, collaborations have been initiated with manufacturers in the area, which will enable production and launch of a competitive product in 2020.
Approach and implementation
The project has been implemented in two stages. In step 1, analysis of studies and consultation of expertise were conducted, which gave a good picture of the patient´s needs and the user experience. In step 2, contact with manufacturers was established globally, some of which were visited. During the visits, our analysis results were discussed and put in relation to the manufacturer´s production possibilities and own view of the product. All in all, this resulted in valuable information exchange and opened up concrete opportunities for future collaboration on production.
