Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project is to contribute to increased recycling of plastic and paper packaging by creating a platform for collaboration. The knowledge exchange between the participating parties was mainly done by: - Increase the expertise of how plastic and paper packaging are manufactured, filled and recycled. - Create a re-occurring contact area between parties who have not previously communicated to a high extent. - Organize study visits to increase practical understanding. - Provide opportunities to discuss challenges and possible solutions and forms of cooperation.
Expected results and effects
Four meetings with different themes were organized within the cooperational forum: at Flextrus in Lund, Fiskeby Board in Norrköping, Swerec in Lanna and Sysav in Malmö. The participants expressed a wish to continue the forum. During the final meeting, challenges were identified for each of the different actors in the value chain and a workshop was held to develop concrete solutions, proposals for further activities and projects that could be pursued further within the forum. During the autumn, the project team will examine in detail how the proposals are best taken forward.
Planned approach and implementation
The project was conducted by organizing four meetings: Meeting 1: The manufacture of plastic and paper packaging When and where: 2018-02-06 at Flextrus in Lund. Meeting 2: Collection and recycling of paper packaging When and where: 2018-04-25 at Fiskeby Board in Norrköping. Meeting 3: Collection and recycling of plastic packaging When and where: 2018-06-19 at Swerec in Lanna. Meeting 4: Final meeting and workshop When and where: 2018-08-23 at Sysav in Malmö. All meetings included a knowledge-enhancing part, presentations, discussions and insights into various issues.
