Call Policy and behavioral issues for a biobased circular economy

Purpose and goal

In order to achieve a "zero vision" in terms of littering and increased resource efficiency for packaging from on-the-go consumption, the project has developed solutions for increased collection, recycling and reuse of packaging and disposables. These solutions have been tested and evaluated throughout the value chain and are now ready for testing in a real environment.

Expected results and effects

The result of the project is new solutions for increased recycling and reuse, which are based on providing the possibility of sorting on-the-go packaging, within a reasonable distance and with clear information on how to sort them. In addition, offer deposit as an incentive to recycle and reuse these packaging. This is accomplished through an app that also facilitates the sorting for the consumer. The next step is to test these solutions in a real environment. The expected effect of the project is that packaging and disposable items are handled more circularly compared to today.

Planned approach and implementation

In the project, we have gathered stakeholders along the entire value chain to jointly identify needs, obstacles and opportunities for increased collection, recycling and reuse. New solutions have been developed, based on potential and user requirements in the value chain, including consumers. These solutions have been verified and are now ready to be tested in a real environment which we are planning to do during summer 2020 in the city of Örnsköldsvik.
