AvBIT - Avatar Based Interview Training

Reference number
Coordinator AvBIT Labs AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 300 000
Project duration December 2017 - August 2018
Status Completed
Venture Innovative Startups

Purpose and goal

The main objective is to further develop the avatar-based interview training and make it available to more groups. Through the success of the project having developed a flexible media server solution, adults regardless of location, can access education through their computer. This is also the basis of our business model that, with a training platform as a base, it is possible to scale up activities nationally and internationally without being restricted to a few training leaders. This opens up opportunities to increase adult capacity to handle sensitive conversations with children.

Expected results and effects

The project has resulted in the fact that we have now managed to adapt a media server to the specific needs of the avatar-based interviewer. This has also resulted in access to voice manipulation of voice from any computer that both increases accessibility and scalability around the model and allows participants after education to access, for example, rehearsal training. Participants can then act as instructors and control the avatar including audio manipulation and others act as interviewers in the exercise. We have also gained insight into customer needs and develop a light version.

Planned approach and implementation

The main moments included programming and development of the media server, including the ability to manipulate the instructor´s voice in real time from any computer. A total of 3 weeks of programming has been purchased for programming of parts connected to the media server. In the main moments we have kept to the basic plan. The pilot project was chosen not to be implemented when we were introduced in the spring of new technical solutions that lead to the implementation of planned functions becoming available faster and then more appropriate to showcase to customers in next pilot projects.
