Purpose and goal

The goal of the project is to build a solution that follows a match in real time and creates AR filters that appear around players and ball when interesting events happen on the field. Our solution that we developed during the project follows the game, all players, and graphics can be automatically added to the players without manual manual installation.

Expected effects and result

How we consume sports on TV has not changed since sports began to be broadcast on TV. It is still the TV pictures in combination with commentators who describe and try to inform the viewer of what is relevant in the match. The unique feature of our solution is that we combine each AI platform with AR to create a completely new way of looking at a sports broadcast. The result was that we have developed a prototype that extends from data collection to which is then transformed into AR filters for the user who can interact with the video screen, eg clicking on a player to get real-time information.

Planned approach and implementation

Further development of the AI platform with new data types was carried out. Development of AR solution and the user experience was implemented. We did not go all the way to full implementation with a broadcaster, but the technology was used in a coaching app to enable a trainer to interact with the screen, with AR filters showing speeds.
