System analysis from an innovation perspective

In order to cope with the transition to a sustainable society and meet the challenges we face, comprehensive changes are required. The whole of society needs to mobilize and reorganize in order to reach the 17 global goals in Agenda 2030. The mechanisms that drive the interaction between, on the one hand, innovative solutions of a technical and methodological nature, and on the other hand, the infrastructure, regulations and demand required to innovations – individually or in clusters – must make a difference. There are several models and support for identifying barriers and opportunities in the systems within which Vinnova operates.

Highlighting, mapping and analyzing events, relationships, interactions or trends can improve the accuracy of strategies, in the development of new interventions or changes to existing programme. In this report, Vinnova presents models to inspire better analyzes with greater breadth and depth for successful innovation. The purpose is to guide and inspire those who wish to carry out a survey, a review or another knowledge-enhancing study or basis with a focus on social change from an innovation perspective. Analyzes for knowledge-enhancing learning can be used in many different phases of the innovation process. From Ur Vinnovas's perspective, it may be about wanting to design efforts, planning follow-up and evaluation.
