Purpose and goal
The purpose was to explore the possibilities of creating a consortium in the wood industry that can create innovation through material driven product development. This was met and combined with also investigating how the digital tool design automation can contribute to the wood industry´s competitiveness with Swedish wood raw materials.
Expected results and effects
The prestudy resulted in a project application for BioInnovation (DP1 - DeProtion), which has a consortium of furniture companies Drömtrappor, ITAB, Snickerifabriken, Stolab and the house manufacturers Moelven and Stora Enso. In addition, LiU will contribute co-ordination and research together with RISE. TMF will contribute to the dissemination of knowledge within the industry both to and from the project.
Planned approach and implementation
340/5000 The prestudy has been conducted in parallel with several prestudies in the BioInnovation program. We have gathered a lot of meetings and based on these, DP1 has included house manufacturers and the design automation tool, as these parts are deemed to complement the process of developing a material driven product development model that can assist the wood industry.
