Important results from the project

In the project we have developed knowledge on the conditions of developing and managing joined-up digital resources. The project is based on a survey in which a large number of joined-up digital resources were identified. From these, eight were selected for case studies. In the final report, a large number of conclusions and new in-depth knowledge are presented on seven dimensions of co-governance of joined-up digital resources. Theses are normative, regulative, performative, relational, semantic, presentative and technological.

Expected long term effects

In RESONANS, we have shown how joined-up digital resources requires interaction and inter-organizational governance in seven dimensions of joined-up governance. Based on these dimensions, we have drawn conclusions on how actors at the strategic, tactical and operational level, could create better conditions for developing and managing joined-up digital resources in complex organizational and digital landscapes. By taking these conclusions into account joined-up digital resources could be managed with higher efficiency and lower friction among collaborating actors.

Approach and implementation

RESONANS has been conducted through a survey and eight diagnostic case studies focusing on joined-up digital resources. In the survey, joined-up digital resources were identified in open sources and important trends identifies. The diagnostic case studies were carried out through interviews and studies of documents and IT-systems. In these studies we identified critical success factors and obstacles in seven dimensions of joined-up governance of digital resources. These make an important contribution to future organization and development of joined-up digital resources.
