Important results from the project
This project directly worked with one of the priority areas-mobility as a service in Sweden. It was built upon the WP2 in project KOMPIS. It aimed to provide potential values of MaaS by evaluating its impacts on selected KPIs through a future scenario analysis. Based on four future scenarios, the project has explored how and to what extent MaaS leads to, for example, reduced emissions, reduced energy consumption, and reduced private car usages. The generated knowledge can support decision-making within both public organisations and service developers.
Expected long term effects
The primary results is to increase knowledge on the potential values of MaaS impacts. This contributes to the development of a more sustainable and equal access transport system. In addition, the MaaS potentials have been proved in the four future representative scenarios, the integrated way of mobility has shown more climate friendly than the private car. The project contributes to more equal access to traport among different social groups. It increase the accessibility to transport for disabled, elderly, youth and can increase the social inclusion and increase the quality of life.
Approach and implementation
To reach the project aims. The project has been conducted mainly through three work packages: WP 1, Project management and communication. Link to the ongoing communication and activities on KOMPIS WP 2, State-of-the-art analysis To identify the KPI:s that are crucial for investigating the potential values of MaaS impacts. - Transport emissions (CO2); - Fossil fuel energy consumption; - Vehicle kilometer traveled; - Private car usage and ownership. WP 3, Potential values of MaaS impacts - Design future representative scenarios - Estimate potential values of MaaS impacts
