Important results from the project
The aim was to place the VINNVÄXTprogramme into a regional policy context to gain insights in how the ideas behind and the formation of the programs is related to this context. It was also the ambition to trace the impact of VINNVÄXT on the present.regional policy
Expected long term effects
The analysis shows that VINNVÄXT, when the program was initiated was an innovative program that addressed a new aspect in Swedish regional policy - innovation - in a creative and stringent way.The programme was followed the focusing on smart specialization, which today is high fashion in EU´s cohesion policy. EU´s focusing on smart specialization does not seem to be inspired by VINNVÄXT. A more probable explanation is that Vinnova managed to early catch the spirit of the time that also influenced the smart specialization concept.
