Purpose and goal

The aim with the project is that activities to verify research based ideas should lead to innovations, business or licence agreements. The goal for Stockholm University´s innovation support has been that initiated project activities should lead to admission to an incubator and/or attract an investment. During the whole project period 41 projects have fulfilled the effect goal to move on to an incubator and/or attract an investment.

Expected results and effects

During the whole project period (2018-May 2022) 656 ideas have been received by the innovation support. Out of these 137 have received different verification activities to protect them, investigate market potential, perform business development and let the one with potential start a company (or in some cases lead to a licence agreement) to be transferred to an incubator and/or attract an investment.

Planned approach and implementation

At Stockholm University the Innovation Office have been responsible for idea inflow, IPR and early business development until starting a company. The NABC-approach have been used for development of ideas.The VFT-money has been at the Innovation Office´s disposal. When the project enter a more commercial phase SU Holding will take it on to start a limited company and mediate possible investments. In some cases the projects has moved further to an external incubator, such as Sting or Antler.
