Funding from Vinnova SEK 1 176 321
Project duration December 2016 - November 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal of the project has been to streamline the core business of Venture Cup, our business model and value proposition towards stakeholders and users with the aim of creating a more stabile organization and a sustainable business model. A clearer value and offer, as well as a more defined place in the national network of innovation support systems, has been possible, as well as being able to prepare for the next step: a Nordic cooperation, providing the competing entrepreneurs the possibility to scale.

Expected results and effects

The project has successfully resulted in achieving the set goals. With the support from Vinnova, Venture Cup has managed to merge five organizations into two, to streamline and optimize resources, which means that we can focus more efficiently on helping more entrepreneurs with business ideas to test, iterate and develop them towards growth.

Planned approach and implementation

The project har been managed by the CEO of Venture Cup, supported by project managers employed within the organization. The project has meant to anchor the new competition concept as well as the new organizational structure to stakeholders and internally. Above all, it has made it possible to develop, change and reorganize Venture Cup - which before the start of the project was conducted in four non-profit organizations and one foundation, now being more effectively run by two non-profits. Consultants from McKinsey and co have been supporting the project to fruitful results.
