Purpose and goal

VARA Digital showed the potential of digital services, increased digital skills that have led to growing digital presence and an increased use of the municipality´s digital services. More than 300 local residents attended, from 13-year-old students who taught their skills, to a 95-year-old woman who put the 105-year-old Bojan´s blog as a favorite page. A Idéa workshop with the project management group and supervisors, led to eight new socially useful digital services.

Expected results and effects

Expected effects - results: - 3-500 new digitally literate citizens - more than 300 trained - Ten new e-service ideas - 8 developed - VARA Digital - a developed digital service - increased citizen participation in the digital Service Innovation - VARA Digital has received citizen wishes ecosystem for co-creating digital Service Innovations strategy for attitude change efforts for innovation promotion activities developed consistently digitalisation will change in attitudes, increased digital literacy, digital needs satisfactory service, more satisfied citizens, etc.

Planned approach and implementation

VARA Digital showed the possibilities of digital services and created curiosity and expertise around them. Residents were invited to skills enhancement workshops, where more than 300 attended. Participants could take up requests with the supervisors, one per group of 6-8. Supervisors came from municipal activities, teaching, staff people, administrators ands representatives from the municipal company, school children etc. An Idéa workshop with actors who participated in the project, project supervisors and others, led to proposals for new socially useful digital services.
