Reference number
Coordinator Lunds universitet - Institutionen för designvetenskaper
Funding from Vinnova SEK 364 000
Project duration June 2014 - March 2015
Status Completed
Venture Challenge-Driven Innovation – Stage 1 initiation

Purpose and goal

The overall goal of the UUT project is to investigate how mobile technology can be used to create novel and motivating ways to encourage physical activity also for persons with disabilities. During phase 1 of the project we have established a group of organisations who will take the project on through the following stages. We have also identified the kind of activities and movements that should be part of the future development.

Results and expected effects

Phase 1 of the project has led to an identification of the problem area/design space, and a project group committed to continuing the work during future project phases. We also have a set of design concepts that can form the basis for future work.

Approach and implementation

During phase 1 we have performed interviews, meetings and workshops to gain an improved understanding of what kind of activities that are relevant and motivating, and what types of gestures that we will need to consider. A result of the initial work is that also persons with learning disabilities could benefit greatly from this kind of technology, and we have included representatives for this group in the project team.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
