Important results from the project
The goal of the project was to develop, apply and disseminate AI-technology for improved efficiency and regulatory compliance within the public administration, with particular focus on the business process automation at the Swedish Social Insurance System. More specifically, the aim of the project was to develop and apply logic based methods from AI to verify that automated determinations comply with legal requirements, and, moreover, to develop and apply machine learning methods from AI to the problem of identifying irregular determinations.
Expected long term effects
The project has resulted in several articles in scientific conferences and journals, plus a master´s dissertation. Moreover, the project has arranged lectures, workshops and conferences for a broader audience from the public administration.
Approach and implementation
The project was broken down into two research tracks: ´Traceability from sources of law to determination´ and ´Detection of exceptional determinations´.
