Purpose and goal

All targets have been satisfied and contributes to the fulfillment of the vision of raising awareness of the potential of ecosystem services in urban environment and to contribute to a world-class sustainable building in Sweden. The project has resulted in tools, quantification and evaluation to visualize ecosystem services in urban environments. The project has mediate Swedish environmental expertise and technologies in sustainable urban planning and promoted Swedish companies, Swedish exports and green growth.

Results and expected effects

The results are in demand and spread within the urban planning and construction. Consultants, architects and building companies assesses that there are great opportunities to use ecosystem services as part of the product portfolio. Competence and tools is a competitive advantage. SGBC are using results and expertise in the development of a new Swedish certification. Interest in Swedish environmental expertise and technology among international actors has been strengthened, for example in Brazil.

Approach and implementation

The strong constellation of actors and the mix of competencies has enabled an interdisciplinary and targeted approach. The set-up with four different work packages has promoted an efficient work which has allowed competences to be rightfully expoited. The work process has developed continuously during the project, allowing for relevant communication channels and feedback procedures to take form.
