Purpose and goal

Dyenamo AB has successfully been established as a supplier of material components for research and development of molecular solar cells. In order to answer to an increasing external demand and at the same time reduce the production costs, a challenging upscaling of the material production is required. The aim of this project has been to initiate this work. We have followed the project plan and even gone one step further by purchasing up-scaling equipment,

Results and expected effects

The project has mapped out up-scaling possibilities for various materials. We conclude that the outcome motivates us to continue and intensify the up-scaling work. This will be a challenging and resource-intense task. However, the ongoing negotiations with several customers show us that the external demand clearly exists. In order to realize the up-scaling, we plan to submit a phase two application to the VINNOVA-call ´Innovationsprojekt i företag´.

Approach and implementation

We have followed the project plan and worked systematically with the project objectives; i) definition of products for up-scaling studies, ii) up-scaling analyses of the defined products, iii) definition of product that share synthetic route, iv) cost estimation for the required equipment, v) evaluation of laws and rules for chemistry production in the targeted volumes.
