Project duration December 2016 - March 2017
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project aimed to understand how public funding channelled from TEKES to universities at the same time as the abolishment of the professor´s privilege has impacted on the ability of universities to transfer technology. The additional analyses conducted have not shown any significant differences stemming from the additional funding obtained. The goal of the project has been achieved since these analyses have been carried out.

Expected results and effects

The aim of the project was to make additional analyses av the effects of public funding to facilitate technology transfer in connection with the abolishment of the professor´s privilege in Finland. The project has conducted these analyses and achieved its target.

Planned approach and implementation

The analyses have been conducted through regression analyses where earlier analyses of the effects of the abolishment of the professor´s privilege on patenting have been complemented by a decomposition into universites with high and low public additional funding, respectively.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
