Purpose and goal
Umeå Biotech Incubator goal is to contribute to more life science companies´ start and grows. UBI has offered innovators developed incubations processer containing business development, product development and regulatory framework well adapted for the life science industry. The innovators have been offered access to network with experts and investors, laboratory infrastructure and office space during the project time.
Expected results and effects
In 2015, UBI has evaluated 27 new proposals were we accept 10 in to a pre incubator process. In the other incubator phases it has 13 companies and 13 incubator projects participating. UBI has contributed to the share of equity capital attracted to the incubator companies and our alumni have increased 3 times compared with 2014. During the year, UBI made three exits MD Biomedical AB , Protest Diagnostics AB and Lipigon pharmacutical AB.
Planned approach and implementation
In 2015, UBI offered incubator projects / companies individual coaching, business coaching in groups, access to specialists, equipment and our facilities. Many of the companies during the year to meet investors, industrial partners and end customers to verify their business alt begin their sales. UBI has made several skill-enhancing activities including a management, negotiation technique, drug development, medical device development, public relations and media, Business Model Canvas and Value Creation Forum.
