Purpose and goal
The purpose of the project is to finance the Swedish delegation to the 2017 Global Access Program (GAP) at UCLA. GAP offers companies a strategic new market entry plan, most often focusing on the US market. The program runs from July - December. 2017 13 Swedish companies were accepted to the program. All companies have received a no or no-go recommendation and for those receiving av go recommendation a suggested 5-year strategic plan was presented.
Expected results and effects
Nine of the thirteen participants have been recommended to proceed with their entry into the US market, four have been recommended to wait or to refrain from entering. The majority of the partipants are happy with the work done and agree with the recommendations, however not all. Considering that the report was presented late December it is too early too evalutate the result and understand what the work done will lead to. As a result of questions raised about the program, the Swedih participation will be paused and an evalutation will be conducted.
Planned approach and implementation
Students participating in UCLAs GAP-programme have during the period July to December conducted market research based on agreed hypotheses with the participating companies. A final report was presented in December and evaluated by an assigned panel consisting of industry experts.
