Purpose and goal

With this international multidisciplinary collaboration, we aim to define the prevalence of genetic neuromuscular disorders, the geographical distribution of patients, clinical and morphological features, genetic background and pathogenesis of these diseases. In cooperation with the applicant, we have defined work-plan and the role of all involved partners. In the proposed project, we have focused on the conditions that give the applicant the opportunity for further career development and to actively develop international cooperation in the proposed research.

Results and expected effects

Planning grant has enabled us to define the work-plan and the role of all involved partners based on their competens. The applicant, the host organization and the partners have complementary skills. These conditions give the applicant the opportunity for further career development and to actively develop international cooperation under the proposed research project. Also, this can give the applicant the opportunity to contribute and to develop long-term partnerships between all project partners.

Approach and implementation

The applicants have visited the Swedish host to initiate, discuss and develop an international interdisciplinary collaboration. The focus of the project was to promote the academic qualifications of the applicant which should hopefully lead to long-term cooperation and mobility between universities. Planning grant made it possible for partners to write and submit a complete application to VINNMER Marie Curie Incomming grant.
