Purpose and goal

With the document A Vision for Water - Research and innovation agenda for the water sector in Sweden, the entire sector has collectively described and specified the Swedish strengths, needs, and challenges along with a plan for how we can respond to them and when, what was the aim and objective of the project. Another aim was to bring the sector together to a common platform for interaction between stakeholders, which began during the joint meetings we had during the project.

Results and expected effects

In the result, A Vision for Water - Research and innovation agenda for the water sector in Sweden, the sector has jointly drafted strengths, research and innovation, and objectives for 2020 and 2050. By joint financing of research and innovation areas between the stakeholders and work towards these goals, we have concluded the expected impacts we will see in society, for Sweden and for the sector.

Approach and implementation

The set up and implementation of the project was the openness and opportunity for stakeholders in the research and innovation system to participate and contribute to A Vision of water, of the utmost importance. There were three open meetings where some 30 attended each time and we discussed the content of a Vision for water. An editorial group was put together for writing the document. All work material was posted on a website for document management that the stakeholders had access to and on the Swedish Water´s website.
