Important results from the project
The aim of the project was to verify and develop the areas Flagship 1 identified, to develop new knowledge and good examples on how to improve competitiveness in a factory in a global group beyond the Lean concept. The goal was to, in addition to exchange of experience among participating companies, to disseminate the results to smaller companies. The participating companies have responded in very positive terms. Dissemination of used best practise sharing methodology, experiences and tools is implemented through transfer to Produktionslyftet and publishing of the documentation.
Expected long term effects
Flagship 2 has verified and further developed a model of best practice sharing and produced a final report with the strengths to build on as the basis for wider dissemination and development. The project has created direct benefit to the participating companies by inspiring and strengthen each company´s development. We are convinced that efforts strengthened the argument and sharpened tools of the participating enterprises to assert and develop their roles in the global competition they face - both externally and internally.
Approach and implementation
The set-up with a full-day workshop on a given theme with one of the participating companies as a host and formulation of a specific issue together with the related homework has worked very well. However, this requires that companies dare to be open up and share experiences, ie that they are not in a competitive situation. Documentation has been compiled by our ´follow´ researchers and has been highly appreciated by the participating companies as they can go back and get facts and inspiration for internal company discussions.
