Purpose and goal
The aim of the project is to identify and analyze the causes to the skill shortages, map the skill needs of the private industries and businesses, build on and try to generalize earlier experiences, pay particular attention to how the question about skill supply is connected to the problems regarding integration and societal exclusion, and suggest policy recommendations. The goal has been to strengthen the connection between science, education, innovation and the development of the industries and businesses, contribute to the knowledge triangle, and to a better skill supply.
Expected results and effects
The main point of the project has been research, but by presenting preliminary results, cooperate in groups where the experiences and knowledge of participants is built upon, and by organizing national and regional seminars, we have been able to conclude detailed recommendations, changed behaviors and a high degree of goal fulfilment. The project has contributed to transforming research into innovation, in terms of new skill supply strategies. An example is the report Yrkesutbildningens irrvägar, which has had a broad influence and opened up for today’s discussions about reforms.
Planned approach and implementation
The project has had a broad setup aiming at engaging companies, education providers, public authorities, and politicians. The most intense cooperation has been with the steering and reference groups, they constitute valuable channels for spreading and gaining information etc. Stakeholders on national and regional level have been involved in a process of seminars, dialogues, meetings etc. where the gathering of knowledge and exchange of experiences have been integrated in the shaping of conclusions and recommendations, with the aim of achieving impact and goal fulfilment.
