Reference number
Coordinator RISE Research Institutes of Sweden AB - Interactive Institute, Göteborg
Funding from Vinnova SEK 2 000 000
Project duration July 2016 - January 2019
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project consisted of examining the prerequisites for taking the innovation “Den interaktiva riddräkten” to a commercialized product, and the possibilities of creating a potentially international scalable business case. During the course of the project the interest from established players on the market both nationally and internationally have been examined which has resulted in that the prospect of fulfilling the goals is estimated as very good. During the spring of 2019 RideQ will launch its first product on the market.

Expected results and effects

The goal is to launch several more RideQ units during 2019 and 2020 that together will create a full system for a rider. The effect will hopefully be that these units will be as necessary for the riders as airbags are to car drivers. Partner companies will include RideQ units in their products to establish their brand as innovative. Another goal is to establish several distribution channels internationally through collaboration with established brands to be able to quickly upscale the company.

Planned approach and implementation

Arrangement and analysis has been executed according to VINN verifiering´s guidelines. In four well defined milestones phases and expectations have been tested and proven. Each milestone have been reported and approved by Vinnova before the next step has been taken. In addition to Vinnova’s experts we have also collaborated with Chalmers Ventures, “Ridsportens Innovationer”, and several internationally established companies in the industry to examine and evaluate the direction of the project.
