Important results from the project
The purpose of this project was to improve the ability to lead and organize innovation work at the league and club levels. The goal was to develop and deliver two training programs. These programs have been developed with good results, but we have also delivered additional training days, conference workshops and breakfast seminars. Furthermore, we have developed a website (www.sportsandbusiness.se) and we have also produced films about our work (https://exedsse.se/sport/).
Expected long term effects
Our two training programs and additional training events have effected 400-600 individuals within Swedish sports. Within Swedish Trot Racing, Swedish Elite Football and Swedish Hockey League, we have educated club directors, chairmen and marketing directors. Except for this we have trained consultants, key decision makers from other sports and students. The concept "Sport office" is now so firmly established that several sports formally have taken decisions to implement the journey "från idrottskansli till innovativt sportkontor".
Approach and implementation
We have developed and delivered two training programs. One program have been focused on an individual sport (Swedish Trot Racing) and the other program has been open to Sport Directors from several sports. In addition to this, we have delivered additional training days, websites and leveraged international contacts to research centers in the US, Germany and Switzerland. In addition to this, we have worked with Hypergene (consultant) to develop a customized ERP system for sport leagues and clubs. This system is now used by Swedish Football Association and Swedish Trot Racing.
