Purpose and goal

The project ´The digitalization of retail spaces´ has reached its aim and purpose by good margin. The purpose of the project was to develop business models that make retail spaces attractive and successful in a digital future. Through the workshop-kit we have developed a tool for the actors at retail spaces to develop their own business models with the support of the strategical framework developed throughout the project. The aim was reached through the methodology developed through this project, enabling the actors to handle the challenges and opportunities of the digitalization.

Expected results and effects

The diffusion of the results has started through presentations held for the members of NCSC. The aim with the workshop-kit has been to easily distribute the results to all the members among the members. Because of this, it is difficult to determine the effect for single members of NCSC. However, so far there has been a large interest among NCSC´s members to use the workshop-kit and get access to the material. But as a result of the publication of the academic article, there are rules that prohibit us from making the material accessible to the public.

Planned approach and implementation

The setup and implementation of the project has been adjusted and adapted to the specific needs at each stage of the project, and as a result of the understanding of the end-users has increased during the project. The possibility to redefine, adapt and iterate our ideas and hypotheses has been an important factor for the project´s success. However, the lengthy project time has been an holdback, since it has taken to long between meetings between the project partners. From this perspective, the project would have gained from taking place during a shorter period and with higher intensity.
