Important results from the project
The purpose is to increase knowledge about obstacles and opportunities for circular and bio-based economics in and between value chains. Create a plan that describes how the project´s results will be developed, implemented and utilized. The goal is to create a cross-industry collaboration to stimulate SMEs to prioritize circular conversion within textile residual flows. The project will develop a framework and a design for a marketplace for textile industrial waste, linked with expertise that makes sellers and buyers feel safe and that the best possible use of the flows is ensured.
Expected long term effects
There is a first proof of concept of the marketplace that is designed to facilitate and strengthen synergies and collaborations between different industries and companies. In the design of the marketplace, there are functions that eliminate the obstacles and challenges that companies see to become more circular, e.g. help with laundry, transport, design and material processing. The effect is that companies find each other easier and create new cross-industry collaborations and can more easily adjust their activities to a more circular one through an easy-to-use marketplace.
Approach and implementation
Marketplace is designed based on the results of conducted interviews and workshops. The interviews were conducted with stakeholders from the various areas of the textile industry, such as material buyers and sellers and designers. Through workshops, a closer dialogue has been held to understand what´s required for a circular change through the marketplace. Lectures have also been given on areas that companies have identified as critical and necessary for the transition to circular textile flows, examples of which are legal requirements and traceability.
