Important results from the project
The aim was to create a clear, well described and accepted model to support innovation for person-centered care within the non-profit sector. This has been done and the innovation support is available as a part of Famnas service. The goal is to support non-profit organizations to continually develop new ideas into innovations. Different organizations need different support, but similarities are found in need of support tom manage the project, describe the innovation as a project and sometimes help in search for funding.
Expected long term effects
The Testbed has two ongoing innovation projects as a result of the innovation support. One project which goal is to support a person who is on long term sick-leave so she can be a co-creator in their own rehabilitation. The second project is a further development of the person-centered documentation and follow up (PDU) to be able to spread it to others. Using the PDU method has led to that individuals with dementia diagnosis maintained or improved their ability to function. The results from the test bed is presented in two reports.
Approach and implementation
Work within the test bed has proceeded according to plan. The continuous learning in dialogue with employees from various organizations have played an important part in the development of the innovation support. But equally important has been and is learning from the ongoing innovation projects. The development of PDU were carried out together with nurses and other staffs in care and thus also with the persons with dementia and their spouses. We believe this is one of the reasons that PDU will be a good method that can spread to many.
