Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project has been to investigate the potential of a test bed for environmental and hydropower engineering as well as technical services and outdoor/tourism adjacent to the Vissman river in eastern Värmland. This has been done with regard to, stakeholders and customers as well as from a hypothesis about future design and organization. The project has been implemented according to plan and shows a great potential for a future test bed of technology linked to hydropower and technology linked to environmental and biodiversity as well as services for cooperation and tourism

Expected effects and result

The project has shown the need for a test bed for small-scale hydroelectric power as well as the environmental technology needed to drive it in a sustainable way. An application to realize the test bed will be submitted, which we hope will result in a sustainable test bed that supports the Swedish hydropower and supplier. This will strengthen the potential for innovation in technology and services linked to the regeneration plan for small-scale hydropower proposed by the government. Products and services that can also be used on an international market.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been implemented according to plan in three steps; WP1 Customers and Collaboration WP2 Potential and usefulness WP3 Describe and next step In addition to the planned ws, individual meetings have been held with stakeholders and potential users. This has created great value and clearifyed the input in a good way. In addition to describing the next step, has a thorough review of the river and installations been made. This has clarified what possible installations and services the testbed can offer based on a geographic and regulation perspective.
