Purpose and goal

The main objective is to build a test bed for scalable solutions, based on the need for sustainable development of critical community services located in peripheral regions. The purpose is to provide access to infrastructure upgraded through the test bed to innovation infrastructure, attracting industry to develop solutions to take advantage of the potential of digitization and create sustainable solutions for the development of the future´s robust society.

Expected results and effects

- Scalable, custom products and services for small airports (AFIS). - Established, well-known and well-functioning test bed that generates custom products and services for rural reality and challenges. - Access for citizens to care in “care-space” becomes more extensive. - The citizen takes part in the possibilities of digitization that contribute to sustainable solutions for rural areas. - Industry increased willingness to develop solutions for rural areas contributes to the development of small municipalities.

Planned approach and implementation

The testbed will initially be area for remote controlled systems for smaller airports and community room, which will lead to custom services/products that will strengthen the survival of small airports and increase accessibility for care in rural areas. The focus is on creating synergies between the areas, upgraded infrastructure in the community rooms and airport infrastructure in challenging peripheral environments. An important aspect of the project is to implement activities in cooperation with the relevant municipal and county councils and industry.
