Important results from the project
The project aims to support planners and other decision makers to more easily and cost-effectively identify measures and innovation generate the greatest benefits in relation to efforts. Our constellation comprises a total of 15 partners involved in sustainable urban development in different ways. The participants represent a breadth of complementary skills, why good opportunities exist to develop and test the planning tool in a realistic and relevant context, and thus adapt the project to current societal needs.
Expected long term effects
The workshop series enabled us to meet all performance objectives during stage 1. We 1) defined the concept, 2) established an implementation plan, 3) conducted needs assessments, 4) tied relevant actors to the project, 5) drafted contracts, and 6) conducted outlooks. The effect goal after step 3 to launch a useful and commercially valuable end product/service for implementation and distribution in Sweden and abroad - is facilitated by our extensive actor constellation, which provides good access to networks and marketing channels for following through the project.
Approach and implementation
During the workshop series participants discussed current needs, project contracts, work packages and plan for implementation. Forms for the collaboration were concretized and suitable urban districts chosen for the case studies during stage 2. Additional key actors were invited continuously, with an emphasis on business- and municipality representatives. These have since joined the project and together the participants, with assistance from external consultants, produced and discussed illustration materials, sketches and prototypes of the planning tool to be developed.
