Purpose and goal

Sweper´s goal is to be able to use systematic health data in an efficient and consistent way, to create innovative solutions for better health that are scalable nationally and internationally in accordance with FAIR principles and International standards. While maintaining patient privacy, healthcare, together with industry and academia, can benefit from health data. This could put Sweden back at the forefront of life science development.

Expected results and effects

Sweper has contributed to three perspectives: Legal aspects provides trust and security for civil society and profession as well as organization Competitive neutrality - where infrastructures, polices and regulations are harmonised in order to give everyone the same conditions to contribute to development Semantics Common terms and concepts create functionality in the content of communication. Method book produced together with the National Board of Health and Welfare. Pilot projects Practical cases based on the knowledge generated within the project.

Planned approach and implementation

Together with patient associations, industry and academia, the project has held dialogues about what needs to be done for Swedish health data to become the support needed for maximum benefit from the potential in precision medicine. The project has assisted by developing guides, implementation of concrete projects to demonstrate opportunities that health data can provide. In order for the results to be sustainably implemented, the project management has identified and anchored with appropriate authorities and organisations.
